1. Dodo

The dodo bird is the flightless bird these bird has extinct in todays date.  these  bird is large in size approximately 3 feet tall .these bird has downy grey color and  a white plumy for a tail , dodo bird has a small tiny wings .

 So they can not fly  that the reason they are flightless bird. The Dodo has a scientific name  -Raphus cucullatus

The dodo has a ancient bird that these bird is from ancient period and also in middle age .These Dodo bird weight is more than 20kg.

These bird lives in mauritius island  at that time these island is located in east of madsagascar in the indian ocean . 

The Dodo bird is first seen in mauritius in 1600 Ad  so from that period the hunting of Dodo bird started by humans and one more reason by the humans the dog ,cat ,mouse has setteled in mauritius insland so the Dodo birds and there eggs harmed by animals .

The bird has extincth in 1640 Ad and these bird is seen last in 1638 Ad then in 1681 Ad these bird declered extinct. 

2. The great auk 

The great auk is the flightless bird these bird comes in one of the genus pinguinus  of modern period . Great Auk Scientific Name -pinguinus impennis 

The great auk mainly eat the fishes and some acquatic animals . The Great Auk was found in cold North atlantic coastal water along these great auk found in  coastline of Canada,United state , Norway ,Greenland ,Ireland etc 

The great auk is the excellent swimmer great auk was comes under the pinguinus family .

great auk was extinct in the mid-19th in 1852 it is a extinct bird .

In todays date only bones and stories is remain of great auk .The worlds last Great Auk bird is present in 1844 Ad .A sailor got that great auk but by storm he fear he died but he alive  3 days .

But the archeological excavation  have founded the bones and remain part of the Great Auk 

in New England ,Southern Spain and south florida .Great Auk height was approximately more than 3 feet tall and weight is above 5.0 KG.

3. Flightless cormorant

 The Flightless cormorant is the Flightless  bird .These flightless cormorant is called as Galapagos cormorant 

These Galapagos  cormorant founds in the Galapagos island  and these bird is found in only two islands Fernandina and Northern and Western coasts of  Isabela .In these two islands there are more than 1000 breeding pairs of flightless cormorant .

These Flightless cormorant  bird length can be upto 89cm to 100cm in length and 2.5kg  to 5.0kg weight .These Galapagos Cormorant survive upto 13 years 

The Flightless cormorant evolved around 50 million year ago and by the evolution the flightless bird lost their wings get shorter and they lost their ability of flying .

The adult Galapagos cormorant have a Black on top and bright turquoise eyes .The Flightless Cormorant Species can dive 150 feet Deep in water

4. Moa

The Moa bird is Flightless bird .The Moa bird is Extinct in todays date .There are nine species of Moa bird.

These birds was founded in NEW ZEALAND .  There are Nine types of Moa bird species. There are two types of large species of Moa bird Dinornis Robustus and Dinornis Novazelandiae they are Approximately there height reach about 3.6 meter and weight about 230 Kg.

While the smallest Moa is named as Bush Moa these is around size of Turkey bird and some Moa bird are extremely  huge in size 10 feet tall and 250 Kg weight.

The moa bird  is herbivores he eats plants , Fiberio leaves etc . In 1400 Ad to 1450 Ad the Moa bird become extinct .But according to the studies of Auckland University and landcares Research Moa has extinct by Extreme hunting in 1300 Ad. 

The extinct Animal Moa bones has founded in caves of New Zealand Espacially these bones are got in Limestone , Marble Areas of Northwest Nelson , Karamea , Waitomo and te  Anau.

5. Weka 

The Weka bird is a flightless bird .These weka bird species is belongs to rail family . These bird is founds in New Zealand .Weka bird is called as  sturdy brown bird .

The Weka bird is Omnivores these bird eats Invertebrates and Fruit .The Weka bird Scientific name is - Gallirallus australis  there nest they makes in ground . They make there nest with thick vegetation and grass 

A average female lays three Eggs . The Female Weka eggs color is Creamy and Pinkish.

The Weka Chick grows between 6 months to 10 months .

 

As they are Ominvores in diet they eats 30% of Non veg food [Earthworm , Larva ,Beetles,

Weta , Ants ,Grass grubs, Snails , mice , Rat, insect eggs, spider, Frog and small birds.] And 70% Eats Veg Food [Leaves , Grass, Berries and Seeds.]

The Weka bird can Survive upto 20 years . The male Weka weight can  be[532gto1605g ],

Male Weka height ( 20 in to 24 inches ) and Female Weight can be [ 350g to 1035g ] , Female height can be ( 20 to 24 inches  0 )

6. Penguines

The Penguines are the Flightless bird . Penguines comes under Aquatic Flightless bird. 

They lives almost in Southern hemisphere .The Penguines are only in one Specie - The Galapagos Penguine 

They are higly Adapted for Life in water. Penguines body color is Countershaded Dark and

White Plumage .

The Penguines are Excellent in Swimming . The Penguines are Carnivores they eats Fish, 

Crabs, Squid , Krill and other Seafoods . They catches there Food When they are Swimming . The Scientific name of Penguines is - Sphenisicidae eaten 

The Penguines do One mate in one year . Penguines Lay eggs in May or June . The Penguines Lay One egg at a Time .

The Penguines Lifespan is (15 Years to 20 Years) . But by the Research 1% Penguines Lifespan can ( 20 years to 34 years ). And some of the research the Lifespan has Extremely

Goes to 50 years .

A Group of Penguine in water is called as Raft .

7. Kakapo

The Kakapo is the Flightless bird . Kakapo is also called as Owl Parrot. The Kakapo Only Found In New Zealand .

Kakapo bird has The Soft Feathers and Kakapo has Feather like Owl .The Kakapo Scientific name is - Strigops Habroptilus.

In Todays date the Kakapo bird is In very Critical Conduction . Because these bird comes under the Undangered species . At a time the Kakapo bird Founds all Over In  the 

New Zealand . But by the Predatory the Suddenly Population decresea and in 1995 the Population of  Kakapo bird  Remains only 51 .But now also only 204 Kakapo birds remain. 

The Kakapo bird is a Herbivores bird . Kakapo bird eats Plants and Fruits. The Kakapo bird is also comes in very Expensive Birds .The Kakapo bird Price is [ $500000 ].

These Kakapo bird comes under the Parrots family. The Female Kakapo Weight is 1.4 Kg

and The Male Kakapo Weight is 2.2 Kg . The Kakapo birds Height is - 24 inches tall .

8. Kiwi

The Kiwi is the Flightless bird. The kiwi bird is only found in New Zealand . The Kiwi  bird is the smallest amoung the Flightless bird.

In these Kakapo bird the Females Weight is more than Male weight .The Female Weight

 is around  - 3.3 Kg and Male Weight is  around  2.4 Kg. The Height of Kiwi bird is  around 14 inches to 18 inches .

The Kiwi birds legs are Muscular . Around more than 50% weight of Kiwi bird is in the Kiwi birds Legs . The Kiwi birds Wings are tiny around (1 inches) .

The Population of Kiwi bird is 68000 in Todays date  .At a Time  the Population of Kiwi bird is 1200000 . Then because of fewer in Population decrease in 1998 and then the Population became 100000.

The Kiwi bird Lifespan is 25-50 years .The Kiwi bird is the shy bird they see the people they run away .Now also the Kiwi bird is in threat by predator and humans . 

9. Takahe 

The Takahe bird is the flightless bird . The Takahe is called as South Island Takhe or Notornis. These bird is . The Takahe bird founds in New Zealand .

Theb Takahe bird is the Largest Member of Rail Family . The Takahe bird known first to the European in 1847. The  Takahe bird total Popultion is around  400.

The DOC,s ( dedicated Takahe recovery programing ) is working hard for increasing the Number of Takahe bird .

The length of the Takahe bird ia average is 63 cm . The  average weight of Male Takahe 

is 2.7 Kg and Female Weight is 2.3 Kg

The Takahe bird is Extinct for 50 years . But in 1948 Takahe bird was Rediscoverd . 

these Rediscovery is not done by Scientist or Wildlife Specialist but it is Discovered by

Southland medical doctor Geoffrey Orbell. 

The Takahe lifespan is around 16 -18 years in wild. The Takahe birds eats the Starchy leafs and seeds.

10. Ostrich 

The Ostrich bird  is the Flightless bird .The Ostrich is the large Flightless bird . these bird is 

has long neck and long legs. The Ostrich has Bold Black and White color .The Ostrich is the only bird Which has two toes in One Foot.

An Ostrich is a Largest bird in world. the Ostrich is Famous for its speed 70km/per hour .

In 1758 the Ostrich bird speed is 96.6 Km per hour .The Ostrich can cover a 105 distance in just 5 second .

Ostrich can run (60 mph ). The  common Ostrich has Weight is = 63-140 Kg.Ostrich Height is = 2.1 - 2.8 meter.

A  Height of a Ostrich is 9 Feet. In the Whole world the 150000 Ostrich are left. The Ostrich Legs are Strong .The Ostrich Legs are build for Running only.
